- 5 / 5By Nick van DiemGreat atmosphere and nice range of beers. The food was pretty good but sadly not a large selection, we would have liked to see a few more options. The fish and chips were very good. I would rate 4 stars for the pub but an extra star for the homemade tartar sauce which was really amazing, bags of flavour. It deserves a star in itself (possibly the best we have eaten). The staff were super friendly with a nice pub and open fire atmosphere. Hopefully they expand their menu a little more.August 27, 2016

Every meal I've had has been delicious though I was finally defeated by the huge venison burger tonight. Great beer and wine too.Definitely my favourite hotel and bar in the Lake District now. Will be back!July 01, 2016
